Toranomon Chuo Law Firm (or Torachu as we are often referred to by our clients) is a cutting-edge law firm that primarily focuses on business and finance law and also assists our clients with corporate crisis management and compliance issues. Our goal is to serve as your “trusted legal partner” and we provide a broad range of legal services for all of your business activities.

Firm History
- 1983
- Opened in Taito-ku, Tokyo as “Kazuo Imai Law Offices”
- 1992
- Renamed as “Toranomon Chuo Law Firm” and moved to Nishi-shinbashi in Minato-ku, Tokyo
- 1996
- Moved to Toranomon in Minato-ku, Tokyo
- 2006
- Moved to Nishi-shinbashi in Minato-ku, Tokyo
- 2014
- Started a foreign law joint venture with Broad & Bright Office of Registered Foreign Lawyers
Merged with Namura & Partners (Osaka & Tokyo)
- 2015
- Moved to our current location (Toranomon in Minato-ku, Tokyo)
- 2016
- Dissolved the integration with Namura & Partners (Osaka & Tokyo) and switched over to the new business alliance
- 2020
- Started an alliance with Anli Partners
Changed the Name of the foreign law joint venture to “Toranomon Chuo Law Firm Anli Partners Office of Registered Foreign Lawyers (Joint Venture)”

Our firm advises our clients on cross-border transactions, overseas investments, entry into foreign markets, and risk management of overseas subsidiaries by taking advantage of its global network.
Joint Venture with ANLI Foreign Law Attorneys' Office
We are conducting a foreign law joint venture with ANLI Foreign Law Attorneys' Office, whose parent firm is ANLI Partners in PRC. ANLI Partners is a full-service law firm with offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and 13 other cities, with more than 100 partners and over 500 legal professionals, and has a strong presence in PRC-related matters such as Japanese companies entering or exiting PRC and alliances with Chinese companies.
Our Network of Law Firms around the World
In addition to the above foreign law joint ventures, we are expanding our network of foreign law firms to support the overseas business development of our domestic and foreign clients. In particular, for matters involving Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, and France, we have established a cooperative relationship with excellent law firms that share our principles of "FOR THE CLIENTS", "NEVER GIVE UP", and "FIGHT FOR JUSTICE". In addition, for cases in other countries (e.g., Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, India, the United Kingdom, Germany, New Zealand, Canada, and the State of Hawaii in the United States), we work with local law firms according to the nature and content of the matter in order to provide the best possible solution for our clients.
