Cross-border and International Transactions

Our firm works together with law firms in other countries as necessary to provide cross-border services, including the drafting, review, legal advice, and negotiation of M&A, joint venture agreements, business alliance agreements, distributor agreements, license agreements, joint development agreements, services agreements, and other agreements to be signed with a foreign company. We also provide comprehensive support for a foreign company that is entering the Japanese market.

In December 2014, our firm entered into a foreign law joint venture with Broad & Bright, and has continued such joint venture engaging a partnership with Anli Partners (Beijing, Tianjin, Zhengzhou , Shanghai, Nanjing, Shenzhen, Hohhot) since January 2020. Anli has extensive know-how regarding the issues that are important to or pose a difficult problem for Japanese and other foreign companies that wish to enter and do business in the PRC market. Through this joint venture, we are able to provide prompt and practical legal service to our clients in Japanese or if you wish, in English or Chinese.

Our firm also handles many matters in other countries and regions, primarily in Asia (PRC, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam), Europe (UK, France, Germany), the U.S., and the Middle East (Dubai).

Representative matters in which our attorneys have been involved

  • Advised on an investment scheme for a fund that makes overseas real estate investments, and drafted and negotiated various agreements including silent partnership agreements.
  • Worked on many capital and business alliances between publicly held domestic companies and foreign companies in various industries.
  • Extensive experience dealing with various types of agreements to be signed with a foreign party, such as sales and purchase agreements, business alliance agreements, joint venture agreements, distributor agreements, license agreements, services agreements, and business transfer agreements.
